The ERAMIT project (European Research Area
Mobility in Italy), co-financed by the European
Commission "Human Resources and Mobility" General
Direction, is part of an EU initiative which aims to create
an European network able to provide favourable reception conditions
to researchers and with the ultimate aim of contributing to
a broader mobility of researchers within the European Union.
The project aims to favour an active role of Italy in the
European research context by giving broad and updated information
and practical assistance to researchers in all the fields
related to their experience of mobility.
The main purpose of the project is to develop a national
network of "Mobility Centres" which can provide
information to researchers concerning the entry, stay and
residence procedures in Italy (with information on related
administrative procedures), as well as giving them the first
practical information that they might need once they arrive
in the national territory.
The participating countries (Member States, Bulgaria, Israel,
Island, Norway, Romania, Switzerland and Turkey) will develop
a similar national network in order to create an European
network able to provide correct and updated information related
to each country. The development of national networks has
also the aim to exploit the good practices and to bring to
the attention of the different national and supranational
organisms the difficulties or the obstacles which limit the
mobility of researchers. It also has the aim of finding common
solutions at management and legislative level.
The grouping of the national networks constitutes the European
Network of the Mobility Centres (ERA-MORE).
The project is in its first phase of implementation and started
on the 15th of March 2004
