Launch of the Italian Network of Mobility Centres
"Sala Convegni" CNR - Rome, 16th of March 2005

CRUI Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR), the National Research Council (CNR), and the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), has organised the event "Mobilità: uno spazio per la valorizzazione della Ricerca" in Rome (Italy) on the 16h of March 2005 at the Sala Convegni of CNR.

The event represented a follow-up initiative to the launch of the European Network of Mobility Centres which took place in Paris in June 2004 in the presence of the then EU Commissioner for Research, Mr. Busquin. Scope of the event was to present to the general public the national Network of Mobility Centres, developed within the framework of the European initiative ERA-MORE , and to introduce the Italian Mobility Portal. Prof. Piero Tosi, President of CRUI, Mr Raffaele Liberali, Director DG Research of the European Commission, Mr Alexander Tenenbaum (MIUR) and a representative of CNR opened the event; this has been followed by a round table where universities, representatives of the European Commission, public and private research centres and SMEs organisations had been invited to discuss issues concerning advantages, obstacles and mechanisms of international and inter-sectorial mobility.

In the morning a presentation of the European Network of Mobility Centres - ERA-MORE and of the Researchers Mobility Portal took place, while in the afternoon, in order to attempt to identify good practices and critical aspects, a public debate on the mobility of researchers took place involving speakers from different backgrounds; the participants also received detailed information on how to use the pan-European Researchers Mobility Portal's database.
